Clueless actress Stacey Dash has sparked outrage after making a series of controversial and offensive comments about rape victims during a TV debate.
The actress was invited onto the Outnumbered talk show to discuss news that female students at the University of Virginia have been told to avoid parties in an effort to stamp out sexual violence, when she made the shocking statements.
Dash was asked her opinion on the university’s approach to protecting the female students when she said:
“I think it’s a good thing for the good girls to be told to stay home, be safe. The other bad girls–bad women–are the ones who like to be naughty, might go out and play and get hurt and then, you know…”
When questioned about her messaging by the other co-hosts, Dash defended her decision adding:
“But the other thing about this is that it then blames the alcohol instead of the person who over-drinks. So it’s like, the same thing with guns. Guns don’t kill people; people kill people. Alcohol doesn’t get you drunk; you get yourself drunk.”
The comments sparked a backlash online, with viewers tweeting their frustration with Dash:
Stacey Dash’s soul is dead. How dare you say that about myself and other rape victims?
