Emma Watson has spoken out and said that she feels “lucky” she doesn’t have an “addictive personality” and has never had any problems with drugs.

The Harry Potter actress has said that she’s always done her best to be a good role model and enjoy a clean life. However, she admitted that she can understand why some of her Hollywood peers have struggled to cope with fame and developed some serious addictions as a result.

“I started travelling and working away from home when I was nine, and there would have been so many opportunities there if I’d wanted to take them,” she said, speaking to the UK edition of Glamour magazine.

“If I’d wanted to get blind raving drunk I could have done; if I wanted to do drugs I could have done. Luckily I don’t have an addictive personality, and I don’t really drink,” she added.

However, Emma insists that her clean living doesn’t mean that her life is boring.

“I’m not sensible. I’m just me, I guess,” she added.

Emma is known for playing the role of Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter films.

Emma, who is currently starring in the film adaptation of Stephen Chbosky’s The Perks of Being a Wallflower, also admitted that it has been difficult for her to maintain normality following the success of the Harry Potter films over the years.

“I won’t lie to you – it’s not been easy. Celebrity is definitely the hardest part of what I do. But you just have to hope that people look past all that – past the overblown hype of the industry – and see you,” said Emma.
