Emmerdale star Kelvin Fletcher has said that his upcoming storyline could be his biggest one yet.
The actor, who plays Andy Sugden in the popular soap, revealed that the story stems from Sammy Winward’s departure.
Sammy, who revealed at the end of 2014 that she is leaving the show after almost 14 years, plays the role of Andy’s wife Katie.
Kelvin told What’s On TV: “I’m very sad to see an actress of Sammy’s calibre leaving the show. But I do wish Sammy all the best. On and off we have worked together for about 10 years.
“But selfishly, I’m very excited about the storyline her departure brings. I think it’s going to be the biggest storyline I’ve ever been involved in.”
In the soap, Andy and Katie’s relationship is strained as she is trying to expose Andy’s brother Robert (Ryan Hawley) as a cheater.
