Director Tim Burton has revealed why he loves working with Johnny Depp. No, it isn’t because he too has been enchanted by Depp’s amazing good looks, it’s because Johnny is a natural character actor.
The director, who has worked with Johnny on eight films over the years, including Edward Scissorhands, Alice in Wonderland and Sweeney Todd said that Depp always manages to bring something different to a role, no matter what.
“It’s enjoyable working with him. I like actors that like to become characters,” said Tim, speaking recently.
“Some actors make a career out of being themselves in a movie. But I’ve always enjoyed those real character actors that just like to become different creatures, and he’s that way,” he added.
Tim also said that one of the best things about working with Johnny was the fact that he’s a tad bit unpredictable and no one is ever really sure of what he’s going to do next.
“He can do almost anything. I’ve seen it. It’s just a process really. In your heart, he’s the guy and everybody knows it,” said Tim.

While Tim’s declarations of love for the actor are pretty sweet, we imagine Johnny is hurting a little bit lately – especially if he’s gotten wind of the news that his ex-partner, singer Vanessa Paradis, has reportedly moved on and started a romance with French entrepreneur Guy-David Gharbi.
According to reports, Vanessa and Guy-David met on a flight from Los Angeles to Paris in May, and after spending some time together over the summer, the pair are apparently openly seeing each other now.
“Vanessa and Guy-David have become close over the last few months, and even though they are still taking things slowly, they are dating now. Guy-David’s made his feelings clear for Vanessa but told her he’s happy to give her all the time she needs,” said a source, speaking to The Sun newspaper.
“They’ve been going for quiet romantic dinners in Paris and just enjoying each other and having fun. It’s been a very healing thing for her. Guy-David’s put a smile back on Vanessa’s face, she looks younger and is even singing and writing songs again,” the source added.
Johnny and Vanessa split up earlier this summer after a 14-year relationship. They have two children together, and while there were talks of a possible reunion a few weeks ago, it seems that the couple are very firmly off for now.
