Yesterday the entire world let out a collective “WTF?!” after it was revealed that Geri Halliwell, of Spice Girls fame, and Russell Brand, of er…bed-hopping fame, are reportedly a couple.
Confused? Yes, us too, but according to the various articles online and in the newspapers, it’s true and the pair are very serious about their new romance. So serious, in fact, that Geri apparently believes that she has a “spiritual connection” with Russell.
Both Geri and Russell are known for their love of yoga and their interest in spirituality. In fact, over the past few years, Geri has released two yoga DVDs and we’ve all seen various pictures of Russell carting a yoga mat around with him. Sure didn’t he meet his last girlfriend, the lovely Isabella Brewster, while he was at a yoga class doing the downward-facing dog?
“Geri has said they have a spiritual connection through yoga and they practice asana together,” said a friend of the Spice Girl, speaking to the Irish Sun.
“Russell is known for his action between the sheets but he is actually very good at just sitting still in silence. It is something that has acted as a bond for he and Geri as their relationship blossoms,” the friend added.

It is rumoured that Russell and Geri have been something of an item ever since they met at the Olympic Games Closing Ceremony a few weeks ago. After the Spice Girls’ performance, Russell reportedly told the media: “I’ve got a crush on Geri Halliwell – everything in the world is how it should be.”
Russell’s love life has been through more changes than Rihanna’s hair over the past few months, since he divorced his former wife Katy Perry, and last year, Geri split from Henry Beckwith, the son of a millionaire property developer.
However, while reports say that Russell and Geri are very much on, it seems that his new romance hasn’t stopped him from flirting with other women.
At a stand-up gig in London on Monday, Russell was heckled by a woman in the audience. He immediately suggested that the woman and her friend join him for a threesome. Nice, right?
