No, it’s not Christmas just yet, it’s MTV VMA time!
The MTV Video Music Awards are a mere nine days away and some of the top acts of the night have been revealed.
Caribbean pop princess Rihanna is to light up the stage as one of the main performers at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards, it has been announced.
The ‘Talk That Talk’ singer has been nominated for a total of five awards at the annual event. Winner or not, she is still expected to give an electrifying performance at the star-studded ceremony which takes place at the Staples Centre in LA on September 6th.
She joins an impressive line-up which already includes Frank Ocean, Taylor Swift, Green Day, Alicia Keys, Pink and boyband One Direction.
Some of the celebrity presenters on the night will include The Wanted, Andy Samberg, Rashida Jones and Ke$ha. They join a crew of celebrity trophy-givers that already included Miley Cyrus, Wiz Khalifa, Mac Mille and the US Women’s Olympic gold medal gymnastics team.
Comedian Kevin Hart will host the much-anticipated-for ceremony which will see former flames Drake and Rihanna leading the nominations with five nods each.
Katy Perry trails behind with four nominations, Justin Bieber is up for two awards and so are One Direction.
Comedian Kevin Hart will be the presenter on the night.
