Clerys department store was evacuated earlier today when smoke was seen rising from the floor.
Hundreds of people, including customers and staff, were told to leave the shop just after 2pm today as a precaution.
Members of Dublin Fire Brigade were on the scene within minutes and they sent the below tweets after the incident.
The shop was reopened soon after.
