It has been reported that the sequel to The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo will not be released next year as first thought.

The movie which is entitled The Girl Who Played With Fire has been delayed as work on the script is on-going.

Rooney Mara was nominated for her portrayal of Lisbeth Salander.

After the first film, starring Rooney Mara as Lisbeth Salander and Daniel Craig as Mikael Blomkvist, made a modest loss there were doubts as to whether a second would be made at all.

While there is certainly one in the pipeline, it seems that fans are going to have to wait a little longer than expected.

Both Mara and Craig are on board for the next instalment based on Stieg Larsson’s multi-million selling trilogy. Rumours have it that director David Fincher will also return although this is yet to be confirmed.

Daniel Craig starred alongside Rooney Mara in the first film.

If you can’t wait for it, you could always check out the orginal Swedish films starring Noomi Rapace who appeared in this year’s Prometheus.
