Five Fitness Mistakes We Make Every January

Her

Ah, January. The month of so many great intentions. With New Year’s resolutions still fresh in our minds, we tell ourselves that this is going to be the year that we get super fit, and there ain’t nothing or nobody gonna stand in our way.

Because of our grand fitness ambitions, we tend to find ourselves doing and agreeing to all sorts of things we definitely shouldn’t. If any of this sounds familiar, take a look and see if you’re making the same fitness mistakes as we are this January…

Joined an expensive gym

We’ve signed the year-long contract, handed over our bank details, and basically sold our soul to the fancy gym down the road. Now we’ll spend our evenings queuing for machines glistening with sweat worrying about the next month’s direct debit. Probably not one of our better decisions.

Purchased expensive gym gear

We can’t go to the fancy new gym in our old sweats and grey T-shirts. Oh no. We’ve already have justified spending half a week’s wages on a snazzy pair of runners and we’re not even sorry about it.

Signed up for a fun run

In a moment of great optimism we have got ourselves involved in a mini marathon for a local charity. In a moment of great stupidity we broadcasted the news on Facebook which means we can’t back out of it even if we want to. (We already want to).

Bought a fitness DVD

We’ve used it once and in our heart of hearts we know it’s not something we’re going to be doing again. It’s only a matter of time before it starts gathering dust on the shelf alongside the one we bought last year. #moneywellspent

Promised to join a sports team

A friend has mentioned that her hockey team is looking for some new players. Impressed by her enthusiasm and tales about top team nights out, we’ve agreed to become part of the gang. We’re already too busy and there’s a reason we stopped playing hockey in secondary school. We still don’t know the difference between a long corner and short corner, and we probably never will.

Instead of putting yourself through all of this, why not take a new and fun approach to your fitness this January by checking out indoor trampoline park Jump Zone! The Rebound Revolution trampoline classes provide a great full body workout without excess stress on the heart, muscles or any joints while working the lymphatic system. They’re suitable for all levels of fitness, and most importantly, the classes are a lot of fun. Sounds better than queuing for those machines at the gym, right? You can find out lots more information here
