Fang-tastic! Paul Wesley Has Some Issues With His On-Screen Teeth

The Vampire Diaries actor loves playing a vampire, but hates the fact that his fangs keep falling out...

Paul Wesley may not look a day over twenty, but already he’s having trouble with his teeth falling out. The actor has admitted that playing the role of a sexy vampire isn’t exactly everything it’s cracked up to be – mainly because of wardrobe malfunctions.

The Irish Independent reports that the actor struggles with the fake fangs he has to wear while he’s playing the part of Stefan Salvatore, the gorgeously broody vampire from the show.

“We have these little caps that go on our teeth and sometimes they fall off. That’s always a little odd when you’re trying to be a vicious vampire and you go in to bite and your teeth fall out,” he said, speaking in a recent interview.

Paul is currently in the middle of doing press for the next season of the show, which has a major cult following over in the United States. And while Paul has already signed up for season 4, he admitted that he has no idea what’s in store for his character.

“I don’t know, I can tell you my hopes are that Stefan gets tempted by the dark side, I’d like my character to stay in that dark world. But they don’t tell me anything. I think there’s a possibility that Stefan may develop a relationship with another woman…” said Paul.

Stefan and another woman? The scandal! Anyway, the next series of The Vampire Diaries is being filmed in a small town near Atlanta and apparently, the locals aren’t too fussed about having the likes of Paul and his co-star Ian Somerhalder knocking about the place.

“They’re oddly sort of numb to it, it’s very weird. Ian and myself went to Paris and we had these conventions and we went to a couple of these cities and it’s wild how enthused some of the locals are…but in Atlanta nobody really cares, I don’t think they watch the show!” said Paul.

“It’s kind of nice because they film so many films now, you have actors like Ryan Reynolds and Ben Stiller doing these films simultaneously in this little town and so I think they’re just immune to being awestruck by us lowly television actors,” he added.

Don’t worry Paul, if we ever bump into you we promise that we don’t ignore you (the same goes for you too Ian!).

Well ladies, are you excited for the next season of The Vampire Diaries or are you very firmly a Twilight/True Blood fan instead?
