Irish X-Factor star Mary Byrne tells the talent show wannabe stars to “go for it”.
The Dublin woman insists her only regret about entering Simon Cowell’s top talent show is that she didn’t do it years earlier.
The former Tesco worker from Ballyfermot, Dublin, told the Irish Daily Star her life has been turned around since she entered the show two years ago.
“X-Factor completely changed my life,” Mary said.
“My only regret is that I didn’t have the courage to do the show years earlier. I was 50 when I entered ‘X-Factor’. I just wish I had the courage and hadn’t waited so long.”
Mary, who was a finalist on the show in 2010, added;
“Anyone else who has the voice and the courage, I’d definitely recommend that they take the chance and go for it. If you’re not in it, you can’t win it!”
Mary revealed she might even return to the show this season .
“I might be back this year because I know my manager is talking to them about doing X-Factor,” she said.
“I’m really busy at the moment doing ‘Grease the Musical’ in the UK and ‘Celebrity Bainisteoir’ but I’d love to go back to X-Factor.”
Mary admitted she had discovered some information about the Irish contestants but refused to share the secrets.
“It wouldn’t be worth my while saying anything because I’d have Louis Walsh killing me afterwards!”
The reality talent television show returns to screens on ITV and TV3 this Saturday night.
