Mel B is said to have walked out on her husband of seven years, film producer and director Stephen Belafonte.
According to The Sun this morning, the former Spice Girl left their London home after a series of explosive arguments.
A source told the publication: “Mel’s marriage has reached crisis point – in fact it’s on life support. She has told friends it is over with Stephen.”
Mel and Stephen’s marriage has been under the spotlight in recent days.
They added: “It was a very symbolic gesture when she removed her wedding ring before appearing on The X Factor final on Sunday night. She knew what she was doing and wanted to send Stephen a clear message about her feelings.
“Mel hasn’t spoken to Stephen once since her admission to hospital last week and as it stands she doesn’t want to see him. He didn’t come to the hospital at all. It’s a very sad state of affairs given she could have died.”
The newspaper also reports that those closest to Mel are urging her to leave Stephen for good and that their relationship has been rocky for weeks.
The former Spice Girl went without her wedding ring on Sunday night.
At the weekend, Mel sparked rumours that not all was well with her marriage when she appeared on Sunday night’s edition of The X Factor without her wedding ring. This came after it was revealed that she had been admitted to hospital due to a “mystery illness.”
Her hubby, with whom she has a three-year-old daughter, then had to take to Twitter to deny accusations from fans that he hit her.
He wrote: “Idon’t usually respond to Twitter msgs but I will respond to comments of hitting my wife which I think are quite disgusting un true! [sic].”
