We all know them bones, them bones need calcium, but did you know that glass of milk is just as likely to help you keep trim if included as part of your daily diet?
New research from Harvard and Brown Universities has proven that eating dairy at least twice a day may reduce your odds of being obese.
The research team looked at the diets of more than 7,000 people, finding dairy eaters tended to have lower BMIs. Those who consumed the food group at least twice a day were even further proof of the slimming benefits, with 37% less likely to be obese than those who ate dairy once a month.

It appears your choice of dairy matters too, with milk drinkers significantly less likely to be obese than non-milk drinkers (especially in women). The research did point out that this was for milk containing less than 3.4% fat, so maybe leave the whole milk back in the fridge.
Although cheese was eliminated from the study, yoghurt was also linked to diets of those with a slimmer waist.
So what does all this really mean for those who love a glass of milk with their dinner?
Calcium is now a vital ingredient in the diet of those looking to trim the pounds. Researchers believe calcium can help increase the amount of fat excreted in your waist.
In fact, people who took in at least 214 mg of calcium from dairy each day faced a 17% lower risk of obesity than those who didn’t eat dairy.
Best make another cup of tea so. In the name of healthy eating (and drinking) of course.
