There’s been a lot of speculation in the Her.ie office about Fifty Shades of Grey the film. We’ve all been wondering just who on earth will be cast in the dirty movie and, more importantly, we’ve been dying to find out who will take up the role of kinky Christian Grey.
However, there is one actress who has said that despite her love of the naughty novel, she won’t be getting involved in the big screen adaptation. And we have to say, we’re disappointed about this because we think she would have been great!
The Irish Daily Mail reports that Kim Cattrall, also known as sex-mad Samantha from Sex and the City, has ruled out starring in a film version of Fifty Shades.
According to various rumours and reports, Kim had been linked to the character of Elena, a raunchy older woman who seduces Christian Grey (and is maybe the reason why he has such…eh…interesting tastes in the bedroom).
“No one has told me about that, but I thoroughly enjoyed the book,” said Kim, referring to the role of Elena.
“It’s fun – whatever turns you on. All these women of a certain age are finally having fun. What’s wrong with that? We’re all adults,” said Kim, speaking about the impact that Fifty Shades has had.

We have to say, we think that Kim would have been amazing in Fifty Shades. Just imagine her as Samantha, but with a more…scary/dominant/kinky vibe. She would’ve rocked it.
But Kim isn’t the first big-name actress to be linked to the film. She joins a list of women including Emma Roberts and Lucy Hale.
