Bono has turned down several opportunities to star as a judge on reality television shows produced by Simon Cowell.
According to The Irish Sun, talent show producers have approached the U2 front man on US X Factor and American Idol.
An insider revealed: “Bono is one of the top choices each year when shake-ups on these shows come around.
“He has repeatedly shrugged off talk of appearing as a judge as he hasn’t got the time and it’s not really up his street at the moment.
“As far as producers are concerned, who better in the world to judge you than someone considered a kind of God of the music world.”
Jennifer Lopez wants Bono to replace her on American Idol
Last week, Jennifer Lopez admitted that she would love for Bono to take her place on the judging panel of American Idol after announcing her decision to leave the show.
She said: I think big. I think Bono, or Bon Jovi or Mick Jagger.”
However, the insider said Bono is too busy to take on a job like this.
“Bono is a very busy man and it’s unlikely he would appear on shows like this in the future.”
