Perfect for a Rainy Day: 5 of the Best Wellies

According to the weather forecast, the Bank Holiday weekend is set to be a washout. Make sure you keep your feet warm and dry with a great pair of wellies!

Her

Okay, so the August Bank Holiday weekend looks like it is set to be a complete washout. If you haven’t heard the forecast already, we’re sorry but apparently this weekend will bring us some rain, some thunder and, as usual, bad-frizzy-rain-hair. Groan.

The worst thing about bad weather? Having to put up with rain-soaked feet. It’s not a good look and it leaves you feeling cranky and miserable for the rest of the day. Therefore, ladies, we’re proposing that no matter what you get up to this weekend, you don’t let the bad weather ruin your time off (and your shoes!).

Why not go old-school and invest in a pair of wellies? That way you can go about your business safe in the knowledge that your feet will be kept nice and warm.

Now, we know that wellies have a reputation for not being the most, ahem, flattering of footwear but don’t worry – the high street has you covered.

Check out our top 5 favourite wellies below – we’d defo rock any of these bad boys on a grey day…

Black Carnaby Geometric Wellies, Hunter, €190, Topshop:

We know that these super-sleek geometric print wellies are a little bit on the pricy side, but hear us out. Not only do they look absolute fab, but if there’s one thing Hunter are synonymous with it’s making good quality wellies (hey, if they’re good enough for Kate Moss…). These wellies will see you through any bad weather/mucky festivals for years to come…

Joules Zip Back Wellies, €76, Topshop:

Not only are these wellies an awesome colour (we love a bit of pink here in Her.ie headquarters!) they also have a zip down the back, meaning that you won’t have to enlist your BFF/boyfriend to help you get them off. Simply unzip and slide on/off. Perfect.

Yellow Bird Print Wellies, €32, River Island:

Yellow is the colour to be rocking this season and we love these bright-yellow bird print wellies from River Island. They’re quirky, they’re cute and they’re guaranteed to lift your spirits on a miserable day. Fact.

Short Original Gloss Wellies, Hunter, €89, Topshop:

We love the purple colour of these wellies and yes, again, they’re Hunter which means they come with a fairly high price tag. Despite that, they look cool, they wear incredibly well and these ones are short, so they’re perfect for pulling on under a pair of jeans on a wet day.

Black Quilted Wellies, €32, River Island:

These sophisticated wellies would look great with a pair of skinny jeans and a sparkly top, don’t you think?
