Lily Allen Officially Adopts Cooper Name and Records New Album

The popular British singer officially announces her new, married name and has revealed she is recording a new album.

She’s taking to motherhood and family life with a shine, and a ‘Smile’.

British singer Lily Allen announced today that she is changing her professional name to Lily Rose Cooper.

The 27-year-old artist, who shot to fame through the social networking site MySpace in 2005, married property developer Sam Cooper in June of last year.

The ‘Smile’ singer gave birth to daughter, Ethel, before her wedding last year and is currently expecting her second child. Lily told the media and her fans that she was going to retire from music and had no plans to make a future album after the release of her second, ‘It’s Not Me, It’s You’ in 2009.

Although she is busy with a 20-month-old daughter and another child on the way, it seems Lily misses the recording studio. She revealed on Twitter in June that she had returned to her music career and was working on some new tracks.

She has now further booked studio time to finish the roughly started material and work on new tracks. We’re wondering will the recent events in her life have any influence on her new music.

She said it’s great to be able to work to her own schedule.

“It’s great to work at my own pace, with no commitments other than to make music. Im excited to be heading back to the studio.”

We’re excited too Lily Rose Cooper!
