Drew Barrymore, once the world’s most famous child-star, is returning to the big screen’s director’s chair again.
The mother-to-be is heading back to the Hollywood Hills to direct a new drama movie, ‘The End’.
We last saw the American actress-turned-director in her directorial debut ‘Whip It’ in 2009. This time, the ‘Grey Gardens’ actress will take charge of the disaster drama movie, which tells the stories of a number of characters as they reconcile their fate before the world ends.
The motion picture is expected to stick to Barrymore’s uplifting and humanistic style. It concentrates on characters like a 60-something radio DJ in London who is determined to see out his broadcasting career until Earth’s final day.

The Hollywood Reporter wrote that Aron Eli Coleite has penned the script for the film, whose characters also include a teenage couple in the US who can’t agree on which of their families to visit before the end and a father in Tokyo trying to reach his wife and baby before the world’s last day.
Expectant mother Drew is expected to stick to the director’s chair this time, she did a cameo for her comedy-drama ‘Whip It’ three years ago. The 37-year old has also been lined up to direct rom-com ‘How To Be Single’ and produce young-adult thriller ‘Heist Society’.
Drew’s behind-the-scenes career is most certainly taking off.
