Looks like pop’s next big duo won’t be revealing anything about their upcoming single as Canadian popstar Carly Rae Jepsen has revealed she has been “sworn to secrecy” about the collaboration.
The ‘Call Me Maybe’ singer has worked with teen heartthrob Justin Bieber for her next album, but told MTV News the details are strictly under wraps. Her debut album will be released in September.
She said: “The Justin song, I’m kind of sworn to secrecy on because I think we want to release it together at one moment.
“But the rest of the album, I’m really excited for!”
Carly is also set to support the ‘As Long As You Love Me’ singer on his upcoming Believe tour and has admitted she is battling the nerves.
The 26-year-old said she doesn’t know what to expect when she hits the road with Justin, who has been known to create a female fan frenzy in each country he visits.
She told MTV News she has already done two shows with Justin, one in London and one in Mexico City, and all she could say was “wow.”
“They were huge-300,000 people in Mexico City. I was speechless. All I could say was ‘wow’…”
“I think that like in 10 years time I’m gonna sit back and look at everything that’s happening to me this year and actually have a ‘whoa’ kind of a moment. Right now everything’s so fast and the pace of it so quick that I’m just kind of keeping my head to the ground and trying to do the best at getting through it.”
The female singer is warming up for the big tour with a few summer concert dates this month. She originally shot to fame in 2007 for her third-place finish in the reality tv talent show Canadian Idol. Although she remained unknown to Americans, she decided to try and break the States with her catchy single, ‘Call Me Maybe’. All it took was a tweet from Justin to his 22 million followers saying he loved the song and the single took the world by storm.
“All of a sudden people were direct-messaging me from Germany and all over the world,” Carly told Rolling Stone. “It was crazy.”
The 26-year old admits people generally think she is much younger than she is, and confessed to people assuming she was only 16-years old.
