The X-Factor: will you be watching it this year? Apparently it's going to be totally amazing, well if Gary Barlow and Louis Walsh are to be believed...

Will you be watching the X-Factor this year? According to Gary Barlow and Louis Walsh, you definitely should because this year’s series is going to be the strongest ever.

The Daily Star Sunday reports that the two X-Factor judges are confident that this will be the best series of the X-Factor, mainly because they are refusing to see any novelty acts.

Now, maybe we’re just being picky, but aren’t the novelty acts usually the best bit? Everyone loves having a bit of a giggle at acts who manage to shock the judges and leave Gary Barlow looking a bit disappointed.

Anyway, this year the programme has had a major revamp. For the first time, contestants will be allowed to audition with instruments, which should be pretty interesting.

According to reports, Simon Cowell (the show’s boss), gave the green light for the changes to take place after he admitted that last year’s talent had been exceptionally poor.

The makeover is a desperate attempt to get the X-Factor’s falling ratings back up and to allow the show to compete with the likes of American Idol and The Voice.

“The level of talent feels a real step up from last year. Allow musicians to play their instruments has made a massive difference,” said Gary Barlow.

“We have a lot more singer-songwriters, a lot more real artists. I’m really excited,” he added.

And Gary isn’t the only judge who can’t wait for the public to see the new and improved X-Factor. Our very own Louis Walsh is also thrilled with the changes that have been made.

Overly-excited: Louis Walsh can’t wait for the new series.

“This is the best year ever. There are a lot less karaoke acts and more real singers. We have a lot less novelty acts,” he said.

What do you think women? Will this year see the X-Factor making a fantastic comeback or do you think it’s time the reality TV show bowed out?
