It’s the movie Scientiologists would rather was never made, but the trailer for long-awaited flick ‘The Master’ has arrived.

Director Paul Thomas Anderson, (‘Boogie Nights’, ‘Magnolia’, ‘There Will Be Blood’), brings together acting heavyweights Philip Seymour Hoffman and Joaquin Phoenix for the film, widely rumoured to be based on L. Ron Hubbard’s Church of Scientology.

Phoenix plays Freddie Sutton, a man severely affected by what he has seen during World War Two. He turns to charismatic leader Lancaster Dodd (Hoffman), who offers him a position as right-hand man in his growing faith-based organisation ‘The Cause’. It’s not long before Sutton begins to question his mentor, and his belief system, but by then it may be too late…

‘The Master’ is set to open in the UK and Ireland on November 9th.
