We’re used to rain in Ireland and barely bat an eyelid at it but the heavy showers over the last week were a little extreme, to say the least.
Dublin, Waterford, Wicklow and Wexford were hit pretty hard and there are some pictures here which show extreme flooding in these parts.
However, it looks like things are looking up as today was pretty good and tonight “will be largely dry for most of the country” according to the national forecaster Met Éireann.
Overall, forecasters predict that this week will be much drier than last week although as usual, there will be a risk of light showers.
There may even be “some sunny spells” on Tuesday and this is music to our ears.
It might become a little colder towards the end of the week but that’s okay… it gives us an excuse to wear our new winter coats!
There is a chance of frost of Wednesday night so if you have to travel, be careful out there.
