November 11th might not be a day that stands out to you but in China, it’s Singles’ Day (because of the four lonely 1’s in the date).
On this day, people splash out on gifts and try to impress someone special. This year, one man decided to mark the occasion by popping the question to his other half.
According to The Nanfang, the programmer spent over €65,000 (that’s the equivalent of two years’ salary) on iPhones which he then arranged into a heart shape.
Then, in the middle of that iPhone heart and in front of a crowd of people, he asked his girlfriend that special question.
And her answer was…. No. (Oh dear.)
