Joe Manganiello may already play a werewolf in True Blood but apparently there’s another role that he desperately wants to sink his teeth into – and it doesn’t involve turning into a wolf during the full moon.
Digital Spy reports that the actor has expressed his interest in donning a bat suit and playing Batman in a proposed “reinvention” of the superhero following the release of The Dark Knight Rises this summer.
“I grew up, as a kid, I read comic books, and I watched every single comic book movie that ever…you know, I was a big sci-fi fan, I was just that kid. I’m a fanboy at heart. So, yeah, that is on my radar,” he said, when asked if he would ever consider auditioning for the role of the Dark Knight by Ain’t It Cool News.
So, a hot werewolf as Batman? What do you think ladies? We’re fairly confident that Joe would look good in that infamous costume.
However, we do have a few other men that we would love to see in the bat suit…
5. Ryan Kwanten: You may remember him as Vinnie Patterson from Home and Away but have you seen him recently? Ladies, the man has buffed up. Seriously. We think Ryan would make an excellent Batman because he has the body and he looks damn good in a tux – perfect for Batman’s millionaire alter-ego Bruce Wayne.
4. Jon Hamm: He’s tall, dark, handsome, ripped and he has a swagger that Mr Wayne would be proud of. We reckon John would give Batman a sexy, brooding energy that would make him completely irresistible.
3. Mark Wahlberg: There is no denying that Mark Wahlberg is a tough actor – sure hasn’t he starred in a slew of action type films over the years? Mark is not afraid of a little bust up, this is why we think he’d be amazing as the Dark Knight. He has the body, that dark look and we’re fairly certain he’d scrub up well enough to play the role of privileged millionaire by day. We wonder what his gruff Batman-voice sounds like…
2. Michael Fassbender: He’s a great actor and we know he’s got a dark side (anyone remember him in Inglourious Basterds? What do you think ladies? Could you live with watching the Fassbender run around in a very tight costume for two hours? Somehow we think we’d manage to survive…
1. Jake Gyllenhall: Jake as Batman? It sounds a bit random, right? Well, it’s not that hard to believe. Did you know that Jake was actually the runner up for the role of Batman in Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy? Yes, if Christian Bale was crazy enough to turn down the part, Jake would have taken his place.
So would Jake make a good Batman? Well, he’s fairly easy on the eye, he has that nice/dark personality down to tee (we’ve seen him in lovely romcoms and playing the role of a deranged teenager – Donnie Darko, anyone?) Therefore we feel he’s earned the top spot in our countdown.
