Lauren Platt is one of the early favourites in this year’s X Factor competition, but the contest has heated up considerably today following news that Lauren’s odds have been slashed.
Bookies have confirmed that a male customer in Essex has placed £5000 on local girl Lauren winning this year’s series of X Factor, and he’ll collect a cool £25,000 if Dermot O’Leary calls out her name during December’s final.
The magnitude of the wager means that Lauren’s odds have been slashed into just 11/4, meaning she’s becoming a serious contender to Andrea’s hold on favouritism at 2/1.
Jake is fancied for the axe by the bookies at 7/4, however it seems the naked selfie issue is backfiring for Stereo Kicks as they find themselves chalked up at just 6/1 to leave this weekend, having been one of the favourites to win the show a couple of weeks ago.
Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: “Punters have fallen in love with Lauren and they’re backing her like she’s going out of fashion. It’s becoming a real two-horse race between Lauren and Andrea, and if the momentum continues for the Essex star it won’t be long before she’s the favourite to win.”
