Television presenter Georgie Thompson and Olympic sailor Ben Ainslie are getting ready for a trip down the aisle as they have revealed they are engaged.
The television presenter took to Twitter last night to make the announcement. She wrote: “This just in… @AinslieBen and I are getting married! Couldn’t be happier. Suspect the honeymoon may involve a boat…:)”
Her fiancé echoed those sentiments by posting the above picture along with the caption: “Picture says it all. So happy to be engaged to the loveliest woman in the World. Biggles is pretty excited too!” (Just for the record, Biggles is the dog.)
The loved-up couple, who have known each other for a number of years, only started dating in April of last year (2013).
Ben and Georgie have been together for a year and a half.
Speaking previously about taking their friendship to the next level, Georgie told the Daily Mail: “It was a bit of a thunderbolt moment but a thunderbolt that took years before it became anything real.
“We were in different places, but then in April the stars aligned and it made sense to be together and we haven’t looked back since. It’s very special… he makes me very happy.”
