These are a few of our favourite things… for this week at least.

The Rocky Road

We have a lot of time for the Broderick brothers. Those gents dropped in a very tasty delivery to Her.ie this week some of their delicious Rocky Road bars. No, we won’t share. Sorry. This month, however, is the perfect time  to treat yourself as 10c from every Rocky Road Bar and 20c from every Rocky Road Mini Bites Box will go to the Marie Keating foundation to raise funds for breast cancer awareness. #SweetCharity

All That Glitters

Here at the Her.ie office we love sparkles and the Chupi autumn winter launch was a very happy place for us magpies. Cathy went on a bit of a splurge and picked up a couple of pieces. The only problem is now she wants everything and that isn’t going to end well…

Cake, Cake and more Cake!

We’ve had quite a few homemade treats in the office this week including Michelle’s White Chocolate Cheesecake and Rebecca’s Marbled Chocolate Crumble Cake. Before you ask, there have been no birthdays or celebrations, we just love cake.

Like a Magpie

Rebecca’s parents recently returned from Marbella and brought a few presents back with them including some jewellery. While she loved them all, she hasn’t taken this mixed metal ring off since she got it. She’s hoping that one day, she might be able to replace it with a replica made of silver, gold and rose gold… she’s a bit of a dreamer our Rebecca!

Pulling Out The Glad Rags

Liz had a ball at The Global Party that was hosted in the stunning settings of The Dawson Brasserie dining room last Saturday evening. Joined by colleague and partner-in-crime Cathy, she nibbled on the most delicious mini-bite treats by head chef Matt Fuller while being stunned by a magician on the spot. Oh and there was mint-chocolate and strawberry -chocolate macaroons. MACAROONS.
As if that wasn’t a good enough reason to get dolled up, the fundraiser was in aid of the Temple Street Foundation – definitely worth a toast on the night!

Nailed It

Our nail-art loving Mary was lost in Boots for about three hours Friday evening as she discovered three whole shelves of new arrivals from Barry M. Trying to pick nail varnish in such a haze of excitement is never the best of idea… neither is leaving the shop with nine (though she later admitted it was ten) new colours. What she didn’t tell us until today though was that she bought another four bottles an hour later up in Penney’s… slight obsession.

Some of us are looking at the stars

This week Grace got to spend some time at home and more importantly spend time with one of her favourite people ever, her five-year-old nephew Cillian. Some are calling it an Indian summer, but the warmer temperatures meant that playing outside until darkness was a must and she wasn’t complaining after snapping this image that captures the sentiment behind one of her favourite Oscar Wilde quotes – ‘We are all in the gutter but some of us are looking at the stars’.

#LetsWalk

The office is smelling great today with these beautiful flowers Michelle received from our pals at Centra. They’ve just launched their #LetsWalk campaign, which aims to get people walking with their local communities to raise funds for the Irish Cancer Society’s Action Breast Cancer campaign. The fluorescent pink vests are on sale in Centra stores now, with all proceeds from the €5 item set to go to the ICS. You can find out more about this great initiative here.

Gone Girl

We’re all hot-footing it to the cinema to see Gone Girl this weekend. Once one of us, who shall remain nameless, finishes the book first. Also, it’s got Affleck in the nip.

Winner, Winner – Chicken Dinner!

Thanks to a suggestion from Mary, we decided last week to start a Team Her.ie Lotto syndicate. Today we checked our first ticket to find that we won €150! Beginner’s luck is a thing, it seems, but we’re all taking it as a sign that we’re definitely going to win the big one at some stage. Not only that, but the lovely folks at Lotto HQ went and sent us some bubbly to celebrate. Nice. Very nice.
