Is This The Best (Well Most Creative) Yearbook Photo Ever?

Well it's certainly different...

Having your school photo taken is pretty much a universal experience. Stare straight ahead, plaster on the smile, and try not to choke if the school tie gets an outing.

So when one US high school student started a petitition to be a bit more creative, it wasn’t going to be long before people started talking about it.

Draven Rodriguez from Schenectady, New York wants to break away from the routine snap and instead has requested to use the following snap….

Speaking to the Daily Gazette, the 16-year old said:

“I don’t want to go in the yearbook with the generic ‘I-look-like-everyone-else’ photo. I wanted a ‘He looks great. Only he would try that’ photo.”

Rodriguez, who originally was asking for 500 signatures to present his petition to the schoolboard was overwhelmed by the response of 4,000 supporters.

Unfortunately his efforts haven’t bagged him the new image, with school district spokeswoman Karen Corona telling Daily News:

“This photo won’t be a senior portrait but it can be in another area. We’re not trying to not allow him to be creative, but the senior portraits have a professional look. They’re all the same.”
