On this day in 1935, one of the music greats was born. Elvis Presley would’ve celebrated his 80th birthday today and so we decided to re-live some of his greatest moments.

The King of Rock n Roll passed away at the tender age of 42 but left behind a phenomenal musical legacy.

Perfectly fusing various music genres, sounding like a soul singer but moving like he was wired to the moon, Elvis changed the face of the music industry completely and how music appealed to a younger generation.

Before anyone did anything, Elvis did everything… Here are seven of our favourite performances from the King.

1. ‘Bossa Nova Baby’.

Those hips… From the movie Fun in Acapulco, this is certainly one of our favourites.

2. ‘Jailhouse Rock’.

One of the most iconic Elvis songs, the co-ordination for this particular track in the film by the same name is just amazing.

3. ‘Suspicious Minds’, Live in Las Vegas.

That iconic suit. That amazing track. Just perfection.

4. ‘Burning Love’.

LORD ALMIGHTY, feel my temparture rising. Another one of the great performances, this time in Greensboro, NC in 1972.

5. ‘Always on my Mind’.

Elvis in studio with one of the most romantic and heartbreaking tracks, not just his, but of all time.

6. ‘Can’t Help Falling in Love’ from Blue Hawaii, 1961.

How did this woman manage to not melt with Elvis singing to her?

7. ‘Viva Las Vegas’ from Viva Las Vegas in 1963.

There is no question. Look at that shirt! Look at those hips! This is one of Elvis best…
