Fans of Coronation Street are in for a shock as reports this morning claim that 12-year-old Faye Windass is going to fall pregnant.
According to The Sun, Faye (played by Ellie Leech) could become the youngest mother in the soap’s history if she decides to keep the baby.
“This is bound to be a controversial storyline,” a source told the newspaper. “The programme has a history of handling difficult subject matters in a sensitive and considerate way”.
Faye hasn’t had the smoothest of journeys on the show having had a turbulent family life and risked exclusion from school for bullying but this will be her most dramatic storyline yet.
As viewers will know, Sarah Louise Platt (Tina O’Brien) caused controversy back in 2000 when she gave birth to daughter Bethany at the age of 13.
Faye Windass is said to be involved in the soap’s latest pregnancy storyline.
