A new survey has revealed that the average amount that Irish couples spend on their wedding is around €25,000.
The average price for the day itself was €19,625. That total rises to €24,045 to include the honeymoon and shows an increase from the previous year’s average.
The survey, conducted by wedding website Mrs2Be.ie, also found that engagements tend to be shorter with the majority of couples waiting 13-18 months before walking down the aisle.
Nowadays a quarter of couples also live together for more than five years before taking the plunge and getting married.
