WATCH: Irish Girl Group ‘Featuring X’ Release Brand New Track ‘Wild Love’

Finding an all-female group that has style, attitude and the ability to master their own instruments can be difficult but Irish band, Featuring X, has all that covered.

Hailing from Drogheda, Co. Louth, the indie quintet made up by school friends, Niamh Sharkey, Dara Farrelly, Eleanor Rogers, Sarah McLaughlin and Jenny McKeown, released their debut E.P. in June 2013 and have gigged North and South of the border, which included two sets at Ireland’s leading music festival, Electric Picnic.

Last week the girls uploaded a brand new video for track, ‘Wild Love’, and on the very same day they began their Leaving Cert.

The original by Rea Garvey, which topped the charts in Germany has been injected with Featuring X signature catchy riffs, upbeat drums bass solos and two-piece harmonies.

The video, directed by Gavin Kilduff, pays homage to Robert Palmer’s 80s hit, ‘Addicted to Love’.

“Robert Palmer’s ‘Addicted to Love’ being one of the most iconic images of women within music videos, it always bothered me that none of the women could actually play their instruments but were there purely as set dressing,” he explained.

“When meeting and seeing how talented the Featuring X’s girls were I felt they would be the perfect group to subvert that famous imagery as here were girls who could really play their instruments”.

‘Wild Love’ will be released June 26th and you can pre-order the single now here on iTunes.
