“No Longer Viable” – Cancellation Of Major Irish Music Festival

The festival is taking a break this year.

It has been confirmed that Irish festival Oxygen is not going ahead this year.

The fstival was also cancelled in 2012 and last year’s Oxygen festival took a decidedly different direction with a focus on dance music. DJ David Guetta and Snopp Dogg headlined the event.

However, the long-term future of Oxegen is in question after MCD confirmed “it is no longer viable to stage Oxegen in its current form.”

A statement has been released by Oxygen and be read on their official website here.

It reads: “It is with regret that MCD announce that OXEGEN will not take place this year due to lack of suitable Headline Acts which combined with the financial demands by local agencies make it no longer viable to stage the Festival in its current form,” it said.
