James Corden has admitted that despite presenting the BRIT awards for five years, he found the gig ‘horrid’.
The TV presenter and actor was speaking about his experience hosting the event, when he said he thought the ceremony could do with being taken over by ‘someone younger and cooler’.
Speaking during the Michael McIntyre Chat Show, James said:
“It was horrid. It was so much fun the week leading up to it and you get to see the bands, and then it is live and you are in a room full of people that don’t listen to anything you say.
“People who beg for a ticket and then pretend they are too cool to be there. They are chatting, drinking and eating.”
Rumoured presenters eyed to take on the next hosting duties include Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw, while Big Brother presenter Emma Willis is favourite to scoop the role.
Speaking toDigital Spy, the comedian gushed:
“Emma is one of the freshest and best presenters on TV. I watch her on Big Brother and think she’s incredible. I really love her and think she’d offer something interesting.
“She can handle a live environment and she takes things in her stride. She’s really funny and gobsmackingly beautiful. She’s very cool too. It’s everything the Brits want, really.”
So he’s a fan then?
