Kelly Osbourne has opened up about her own clothing range, confirming that she made each item in a full size range because fuller-figured women are as entitled to high fashion pieces as other customers.
The Fashion Police co-host, who has battled with her own weight over the years, has told Access Hollywood that although she’s proud of her collection, she has no intention of being the next Christian Dior or Alexander McQueen.
The outspoken TV presenter has also said she refuses to stock her designs in any shop who won’t make the full size range (0-24) available, saying:
“I will not sell in any store if they don’t take the full size range… because let’s face it, not everyone’s a size 0 and I think the average size in America is between 14 and 18, and that’s not fair. They deserve high fashion as well.”
As for her inspiration, Osbourne said she had a revelation when she tried on a friend’s maternity clothes. Appreciating the comfort of the trousers:
“It was like having Spanx in your jeans! So I figured, why can’t you rework everything to hold you in like a bandage dress does, but is not necessarily a bandage dress?”
Built-in spanx? We may have to buy a pair. Just for emergencies…
