Britain’s Got Talent is back this weekend, and this time there’s a twist in the auditions.
Returning for its eighth series, Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, David Walliams and Alesha Dixon are back on the judging panel, on the hunt for the latest act to perform at the Royal Variety Performance with a cash prize of £250,000.
As well as the usual bickering over what constitutes ‘entertainment’, each judge will have one chance to press the Golden Buzzer once during the auditions. This buzzer will send an act straight into the live semi-finals. (We can see the fights now)
With tension already building between judges, Simon was quick to make a dig at fellow judge David Walliams at the launch of the latest series:
“Do you know what he’s really got annoying this year! He [David Walliams] was kind of amusing before but God forbid I make the audience laugh more than he does – he gets quite dark.
“It’s like having a child who’s suddenly turned into a giant at the age of 11; he is honestly mentally an 11-year-old in this huge body. He has got a kind side but he can be very, very annoying to work with.”
So, Simon won’t be putting through many comedians then we take it? Once he doesn’t sack Ant & Dec we’re happy out.
