Abuse Survivor and Campaigner Christine Buckley Passes Away

She passed away this morning.

Christine Buckley, an abuse survivor who co-founded the Aislinn Education and Support Centre, has passed away after a long battle with cancer.

She died early this morning after a brief period in St Vincent’s Hospital and is survived by her husband Donal and three children.

Christine suffered mental and physical abuse Goldenbridge orphanage and was one of the first to go public to campaign on behalf of those who had also been abused.

Her experience of institutional abuse was described by Christina in the documentary Dear Daughter broadcasted on RTÉ in 1996.

May she rest in peace.
