‘I’m Not Bossy. I’m The Boss’ – Beyoncé Joins Campaign For Female Leadership

Who runs the world?

From her Destiny’s Child ‘Independent Women’ days to her solo ‘Who Runs The World?’ release, Beyoncé has long been an advocate of strong women.

And the Drunk In Love singer has now taken on a new project, joining a US campaign to ‘ban bossy’ and encourage young women to embrace leadership roles. The #banbossy campaign believes that calling children ‘bossy’ can have a lasting impact and discourage them from being assertive in later life.

“Words like bossy send a message: don’t raise your hand or speak up. By middle school, girls are less interested in leading than boys – a trend that continues into adulthood,” reads the #banbossy website.

Beyoncé has joined celebrity figures including Glee star Jane Walsh, First Lady Michelle Obama, Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg, actress Jennifer Garner and activist Melinda Gates for the campaign, which you can check out here.
