When they said Shrek Forever After, they really weren’t kidding.
Four years after the aforementioned fourth film, the CEO of DreamWorks Animation has hinted that a fifth instalment is in the pipeline.

According to Variety, Jeffrey Katzenberg told Fox Business Network: “I think you can be confident that we’ll have another chapter in the Shrek series… We’re not finished and more importantly, neither is he.”
During the interview he also explained that there is still a lot to tell when it comes to Shrek’s story: “Ultimately we will come back to understand how Shrek arrived in the swamp. We will reveal his story.”
While this may be true, we’re guessing that the success of the franchise (it grossed almost $3 billion worldwide) also has something to do with the decision to make another.
