PICTURE – Leonard Nimoy Reveals Lung Disease Diagnosis Through His Twitter Account

Leonard Nimoy, the actor who played Spock in the original Star Trek series, has revealed through his twitter account that he is suffering from serious lung disease.

The actor tweeted that he had quit smoking but that it was still too late to prevent the disease. Nimoy is suffering from COPD is an umbrella term used to describe progressive lung diseases including emphysema, chronic bronchitis, refractory (non-reversible) asthma, and some forms of bronchiectasis.

According to the Huffington Post, the actor will still continue with his work commitments and “anything involving the Trek world.”
