Brek Nebel, from Marysville, Washington knew just how to get his son to eat his breakfast every morning… by turning the plate into a canvas for his works of art.
Nebel says his son Koen acts as sous-chef, usually providing the idea and inspiration for new designs.
Speaking to the Huffington Post, Nebel said:
“It took a lot of trial and error and experimentation to get the style I’ve been using for the last 4 months. It started out using moulds and cookie cutters and has slowly evolved with food colouring and finding the right tools.
Nebel also said that Koen loves helping out during the baking, saying:
“On average [the pancakes] take about 45 minutes, but he’s very patient for his age and he takes part in most of the process. He pours the ingredients in the bowl, mixes the batter, helps separate and add colors, and even helps flip sometimes.”
Koen’s favourite part? Tearing the creations apart.
Oh, and eating them. Because they’re pancakes so they’re going to be delicious.
