Madonna has made yet another jibe at Edge of Glory singer Lady Gaga.
The Vogue singer, who is playing in Dublin’s Aviva Stadium tonight, claimed that Gaga’s Born This Way is very similar to her hit Express Yourself and that she “helped to write” the song.
Madge said on Brazilian TV: “I’m a really big fan of [‘Born This Way‘]. I’m glad that I helped Gaga write it.”
This is not the first time Madonna has claimed that Gaga ripped off her material.
“I thought, ‘What a wonderful way to redo my song’. I mean, I recognised the chord changes. I thought it was… interesting.”
Gaga has hit back on the comparisons between her song and Madonna, labeling them “retarded.”
Gaga said: “I’m a songwriter. I’ve written loads of music. Why would I try to put out a song and think I’m getting one over on everybody? That’s retarded.
“What a completely ridiculous thing to even question me about… If you put the songs next to each other, side by side, the only similarities are the chord progression.
“It’s the same one that’s been in disco music for the last 50 years. Just because I’m the first f**king artist in 25 years to think of putting it on Top 40 radio, it doesn’t mean I’m a plagiarist, it means that I’m f**king smart. Sorry!”
